Had the same problem as receipt sent to me electronically. Was not aware the code does not appear on electronic receipts. You will have to go back to the store where you purchased and get the printed receipt. If purchased on line, you can get via your purchases or call 888-237-8289 but don't call today (Christmas) as you will spend a lot of time on the phone being transferred to be told they cannot help you today :-(

If you bought it online you should receive a digital code via e-mail. If you bought it in store you get your code on your receipt. Either way you get it no matter what.

I just went thru this. The 25 digit number should be on the receipt. If not you have to go back to the store and see if they can either give you a copy of your receipt with the number or you might have to contact Xbox (Microsoft) directly.
