The controller itself has no battery, other than the fact it comes with two AA batteries in the packaging. The battery compartment cover is the same dimensions as the XB1 controller, so rechargeable battery options for the XB1 controller like the plug and play kit (Will require a separate USB-C cable, as it includes a USB micro connector) or the Power-A (the custom battery cover with the 2 windows will fit) will also work with the new controller.
