Depends, I have had some that have lasted over two years and others that have had issues after just a couple of months. I would recommend buying a warranty if you use it a lot. :(

Either get a third party controller thats known to be durable, an Xbox elite 2. Another option would be to buy the star wrench and a saudering iron and fix the stick drifts yourself. 40bucks investment for permanent free self fixes. Third option is do not ever drop your controller and be gentle don't slam the Joysticks as hard as possible.
