Not all usb-c cables are the same. Some are 2.0, others 3.0, others deliver data but not power. I'm taking a wild guess here but it might be that some of your cables lack power delivery.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Make sure you are using the original type C USB that came with your XBOX Series X/S consules. They are especially made for the consule and has the proper voltage to charge the controller. Using other types of Type C USB may not have the proper voltage to charge the controller.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should work fine. There are 2 general types of usb type c cords (data transfer and just power). If you have a data transfer cable it will work the best because it then acts as a wired controller would. If its just power than you still have to connect to the xbox using a wireless function and the cord would just charge the controller. Previous xbox controllers used micro usb cables. I would guess thats where your problem is.
