• Yep if you do it that way you don’t need batteries. The controller itself is usb c so if you use usb c to your xbox it should work.

• this can be used wired if you want by using the standard xbox usb cable. micro usb on contoller end and standard usb on console end.

• Yes you can use it as a wired or wireless controller they actually have a wireless charger pack for the batteries so you don't have to keep purchasing new batteries I highly recommend getting that.
