This product line appears to be defective. I have purchased this item twice and returned it twice for the same reason you are stating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The power/talk button (looks like a phone receiver) should be pressed to turn the headphones off. If you press this and the headphones will not turn off, please take the headset into Best Buy to the Geek Squad with the receipt for warranty evaluation.
