I would not recommend using below ground. Digital signals need an uninterrupted line of sight or as close as you can get it. Best is up stairs in a window. You can always run an extension cable to the basement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd say the higher up the antenna is placed, the better it will perform. I haven't tried below ground, but first floor level works fine. I also find it works better in some rooms than others. If you can place it on the side of the house or apartment that is closest to the broadcasting antennas......you'll get the best reception.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Stingray, Radio and Television signals are generally meant to be received based on line of sight. If the signal does not have to penetrate thick walls, metal and lots of foliage outside you may have some success. You will likely get some reception in the basement but the antenna works better near a window and above ground. Good Luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Totally depends on the signal strength in your area and IF you had an above ground window that you could put the antenna in. Basements are notoriously tricky for antenna reception BUT there are ways to make it work. You could put the antenna on the first floor and run the coax down through a vent to get to the TV, try a roof/attic mounted antenna, etc.
