Can the antenna be set on the table next to the TV? null

No this Antenna needs to be up as high as it can go on a wall closest to a window. There are sticky back tabs and stick pins for wall mount.

The coaxial cable is long enough to allow placement anywhere close to the TV. The antenna is powered and I chose to use the USB outlet on the back of the TV to power the antenna. I have my antenna placed on top of the bookcase that houses the TV. While placement has worked well, I do get some channel ghosting or breakup even though the lights on the front of the antenna indicate I'm receiving a good signal. So far I like the purchase. Are there better antennas, I can't say. But I'm satisfied for the moment.
