Yes, a headphone adapter is included as the case results in a very deep opening for the headphone port. It's unfortunate that the adapter is yet another item to carry or have available. If your headphones have a good size plug, you might be able to connect them without the adapter. I was able to do that. I'm also continuing to use my bluetooth headphones which (of course) don't need the adapter.

Yes, the adapter is included but it is not convenient to keep up with, nor is it convenient to keep it plugged in continuously.
