• I know that if you take the unlocked phone to Verizon and put it on a prepaid plan, you will be charged an activation fee.

• I just took the sim card out of my old Motorola phone and put it in my new g6. It worked fine on the Verizon network, did it all in a few minutes. No charge or Verizon involvement necessary. There were issues with the phone, but they were hardware and OS related, nothing related to the network or sim card.
