“MSI shows the GE66 with the 3070 as having a 300hz screen. However this item says it has a 240hz screen. Why is that? And what else is different from the official GE66 specs from MSI?”

You are not looking at the correct model on the site. Make sure you are looking at the 10UG-039 all the way to the right (scroll if needed) and it shows 240hz.
