“Has anyone experienced any issues with the display frame on these newer models? I bought an expensive MSI 2 years ago, and the frame cracked this month. I never moved the laptop and I always opened/closed it according to instruction.”

I can tell you that the monitor frame is flimsy, I could snap it in half with my pinky. So yep if you dropped this and it hit the monitor frame it's going to brake it. If you have any animals or kids, chances are this will get broken.
