i found no difference between the BV vs the non BV version.. my guess MSI just names the card with a BV at the end (Bestbuy Verison ?)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What does the “BV” mean in the name? I have lost hours, actually days trying to find the answer to this question because I have compatibility concerns while in search of a liquid cooling water-block for my MSI RTX GeForce 2070 Super Ventus OC 8GB, B effing V! The BV, if my interpretation of the information I found is correct, is nothing more than a company reference--the manufacturer and has zero to do with compatibility. Although, I reckon the context of knowing who and where it was made could prove helpful. In my case, not at all. I've seen a bazillion of these questions in comment boxes all over the internet. I figured I would post my findings in here and save others the time and headache. These GPU naming conventions are overly complicated, making it extremely difficult on consumer research but what can you do? Perhaps as I did, find yourself researching into the late hours and hoping you didn't forget to buy eye drops. BV is in Europe, appears to have had some money problems and currently refurbishes mobile phones. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_of_View_(computer_hardware_company) #gpubv #graphicscardbv #bv #waterblockbv #geforcebv @rtxgeforce2070ocbv
