Q: QuestionWhat does the “BV” mean in the name? Every other place with this card doesn’t have the “BV”. Is this one different?

• A:Answer i found no difference between the BV vs the non BV version.. my guess MSI just names the card with a BV at the end (Bestbuy Verison ?)

• A:Answer The 8 pin port that the card has is the external 12v, unfortunately the card need the power in that port and can no be used with a 6 pin cable from the power supply. The solution is to change the power supply for one that has the 8 pin cable like the Corsair RM850x

• A:Answer You would be better off buying a card from anyone other than MSI. If you can't put in your own video card, you won't want to have to deal with the way MSI will treat you if you have a defective part. Do yourself a favor and choose a different manufacturer.

• A:Answer Unfortunately, you cannot swap out laptop cards. They are usually embedded on the motherboard. Now if you computer has a Thunderbolt port on it and if you have a E-GPU enclosure, you would be able to use the machine. The only drawback with it, you won't see that much of an improvement due to thunderbolt port bottleneck.

• A:Answer I believe it would have the standard 15 day return policy for being defective, then after that you would have to go through MSI for warranty claims.

• A:Answer It will work, and play just fine. Unless you do some serious overclocking. Your will bottleneck on performance because your motherboard is am3+ using pci express 2.0 vs 3.0.
