• Hi Tyson, the panels can be controlled via the buttons on the Controller (trapezoid shaped attachment) or an app on your mobile phone. The app would require internet or for you to connect to the panels via its hotspot mode. (In hotspot mode, your phone can connect and use the app without Wi-Fi).

• yes. I needs to connect to wifi to download firmware updates and the like.
