“Does Google Home Hub work without a phone? When I say Hey Google, the hub just sits there and does nothing - I already know my phone answers to hey google. As near as I can tell, Home Hub does nothing.... What good is hub if its all phone interaction?”

The Google HUB does not need a phone to work , the only thing it needs is an WIFI connection such as the one at your house/apartment ....If the HUB is connected to your internet then check to make sure its not in private mode, to do this check the switch on the back of the hub at the top of the screen. also some times when your cell phone is near it will pick up you request before the HUB does. Put your cell phone in another room and try the HUB again.....if that doesn't work unplug the HUB and let it reset itself then try again. hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the google hub and I followed the instructions to get the app on my phone. I then did what the app instructed and my Google works fine. Unless you need to change your info you don't really need the phone. Maybe yours is defective, try getting in touch with customer service. Good luck!
