• It depends on what type of doorbell you have. I have the Nest doorbell camera and that is why I purchased the hub. When someone rings my doorbell, it chimes, brings up the camera and I can talk to the person at the door through the hub. The hub also has scripted responses like, I cannot come to the door that you can select on the screen and a hubs voice will say to your caller. I love that feature and the look and door to door sales people's face when they hear it. I'll have to research scripting a message to say, I'm broke so I can't buy whatever it is that you are selling.
