• It syncs with an app on your phone, so that and Wifi is pretty much needed.

• Yes, but you do need to have a phone and download Google Home. The music is pretty nice, weather, sleep sounds, alarms, timers, and reminders. All good.

• Nest Mini will work as a stand-alone device after you set it up using your phone/tablet (iOS/Android). Please note that Nest Mini is a Wi-Fi dependent device.

• As long as you can get the app, it will work just fine. I started with the Google mini and progressed from there.

• No. It won't work as a stand alone device. You need to use your phone with Google Home in order fror it to work.
