Yes, you can use Nest Wifi system with your AT&T router. But we recommend wiring Nest Wifi router directly to your modem's WAN port to set it up as your primary router. If you would like to keep your current router between your modem and Nest Wifi router, we recommend putting your AT&T router in Bridge mode to avoid a Double NAT which can cause connectivity issues with online gaming, port-forwarding, and connected devices. It will take the speeds coming out of your modem and help broadcast that signal throughout your home, but this doesn’t “boost” the speeds. In other words, if 100Mbps is the fastest you have coming out of your modem this won’t boost it beyond that, but if you place the points well it will help distribute a strong signal everywhere. I have a 3,000sf brick two story with a detached garage. I’m using the base unit plus two points inside and one in the garage and I have strong WiFi everywhere, including my garage and backyard!
