“I have a current modem/router device thru my data service provider. My questions are 1. Does Google Nest support WiFi 6? Also, I have bundled service with my data provider, so does the router support phone service? Or Modem only needed for phone?”

No, Nest Wifi doesn't support Wi-Fi 6. It requires to be connected to a modem in order to get internet connection.
