Correct, the Nest Wifi router is wired to the modem. While Nest Wifi points are wireless and don't have Ethernet ports, Nest Wifi points plug into an outlet. You can add them as Wi-Fi points to create your Wi-Fi mesh in the Google Home app. You can find more information here: https://support.google.com/wifi/answer/9548301
