Bricks are known to block Wi-Fi signals. However, Nest Wifi is equipped with a 4x4 antenna that helps broadcast strong and reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. Although 5GHz bandwidth can transmit relatively strong signals, 2.4GHz bandwidth may be blocked by the brick walls. You may need to put your Spectrum combo in bridge mode or disable its Wi-Fi functionality in order to set up Nest Wifi as your primary router. We then recommend having more than one Nest Wifi router and set one up as your primary router connected to the Spectrum combo, and then hard wire the others as down streams from your primary router. You can then connect the wireless Nest Wifi points to these routers and enjoy them both as Wi-Fi access points and Google Assistant-enabled speakers.
