The Nest can replace your router only if you don't need devices wired to the router. An example would be a work from home computer that needs to be wired to the router. The Nest has increased my wi-fi speed tremendously !!!!!

Nest Wifi replaces your traditional router and connects directly to a modem via WAN port with an Ethernet cable to get an internet connection from your ISP. If your modem is a modem/router combo, we recommend disabling the Wi-Fi functionality of the combo to avoid a Double NAT case which may cause connectivity issues.
