• Are you running a server on a device that you will connect this switch to and then connect workstations to the server through the switch? If yes, then I believe you can. This would be a local-area-network (LAN) only without any access points to the Internet.

• You can go ahead and connect as many as five devices together to communicate with each other but it you want any of them to connect to the internet then you will have to have an internet source and only connect four devices.
