You will have to run a long Ethernet cable from the router to this device. While WiFi can theoretically give faster speeds, a direct connection through Ethernet does not suffer interference like WiFi does, so in effect, you could have a better ping response on gaming/etc.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You will still need a cable running from your router to this switch - the switch has no wireless capability. If you can run a cable that far, you might just run it directly to your computer. A wired connection will probably give you better ping between you and the router, but most of your ping when gaming is probably between your router and the server. This does not seem like the product you would need.
