You have to have internet from a company this device only lets you connect to that service

You could use it to help you connect to a free wifi source like provided at a public library, from a farther distance than having to sit directly in the library. But it will not give you the log in credentials needed to log in to whatever networks are near you. That is why people password secure their network connections so that people who are within reach can not have free access to a service they are paying for and therefor consider their possession.
