- Answer depends on what your wanting it for. The device amplifies your internet service. Gives you more than one channel. I received faster service for 3 weeks without needing to contact customer service.

QuestionMy brother has a computer set up with Hughes net . He uses Microsoft and/or AOL on his desk setup . His computer has been disconnected for several months due to relatives moving in. Do we need a router in order to hook up a iPad to the internet?

- Answer depends on if Hughes net is connected through Ethernet or not. Netgear device will be setup using an ethernet connection and then you will be wirelessly connected
