• No it does not need to be setup again after a power outage. The unit can loose power or be turned off, moved and re-powered and it will not be an issue. If I leave my RV and then return my cell phone will automatically re-link with the WiFi extender also.

• I turn off power to work bench each time done in garage. When I turn power strip back on all I have to do is push the on button and it finds the router and connects to it as well as cell phone in garage. You do have to push the on/off button and it takes care of the rest.
