• Not sure... but you can pay extra on arlo cloud to store as many files you want... probably safer that your own hardware

• Not at this point but the new arlo pros coming out you can add a thumb drive

• No, you cannot. All recordings are uploaded to Netgear's cloud. You can view there, or download.

• It records to the cloud. If more space is needed you can purchase more space from ARLO. If you want to download a clip, it can be downloaded to your photos on an iPhone. I do not think you can directly connect an external drive.
