the motion detection videos are saved on the netgear arlo cloud servers and you can download the video to a local drive.

if you're on the basic plan, you have 7days to get your video from the cloud before you loose them. other paid plans offer a bit more freedom

Yes, in my case even though the burglar had a hoodie on the camera took a great nighttime picture to prosecute. Police did all the work!!

The motion events can be recorded up to 120 seconds; however, I am not sure you can use it as evidence.
