The cameras are 100% wireless.. You would need to plug the base station into your router or extender with the use of the Ethernet cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I suppose you are to connect the Ethernet cable to your internet router and then to your net gear. Basically, you are telling the netgear router it is now taking on the properties, behavior of the Internet. You will also do the same with the cameras. The netgear router now thinks it's the Internet and recognizes the IP address of the camera and the two now communicate. Just remember to put a strong password on the netgear router. I'm not positive that this is how this particular group works, but I have done this before that required a windows xp. Work like a charm.
