Each cameras use 4 batteries, and the base plugs into a wall outlet inside the house close to your modem ( the base connects to the modem via an ethernet cable ). With a smartphone, you can position them perfectly in no time at all, by yourself ! The quality of the video is excellent, and the night vision is amazing ! We put all 4 cameras outside, and just had close to 4 inches of rain and they were not effected at all. Don't let the fact that the cameras use batteries cause you any concerns, they are very easy to replace, and can last for months before needing to be replaced.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not for the cameras, as they are completely wireless, but the Hub, the device the cameras connect to wirelessly needs to be plugged in both to power and via a network cable to a router/switch.
