If mounted on wood under an eave, does the camera itself still connect to the mount via magnet? I think this could be an issue....I'd like to put a camera or 2 in my front porch. Someone can easily just remove the camera if magnet is the only thing that connects between the camera and mount.

This setup comes with one camera that is mounted with screws, not with a magnet. The other three, that we have put on the sides and back of our house, are mounted with the magnet.

Arlo has option for outdoor mount that screws into structure and the arlo camera itself. Very sturdy, does not move and cameras are waterproof. The instalation is easy, 4 screws and the camera itself just screws onto the thread bolt on mount. Hope this helps.

I have 2 mounted on the wood on my porch and I have had no issues. If "they" try to steal or knock them down, it's a sure beat you'll have a really nice picture of their face(s).

It comes with one security mounting bracket and you can order more. It is a pretty generic bracket so may be easy to find locally. Our porch ceiling is almost 2 stories tall so easy for us to put out of reach. Did put security bracket over garage.

If you put it up high enough where they can't reach it stroung magnet, if someone takes it they will be on camera

Someone can easily spray paint the lens, cut the wire for internet and or just vandalize your cam. If someone wants in, they will get in. Having that added security helps and will most likely run off the dumb dumbs.

I ONLY USED THE MAGNET MOUNT ON THE CAMERA UP HIGH SO IT COULDN'T BE REACHED AND THE MOUNT UNDER AN EAVE SO IT WASN'T AS EASY TO REMOVE THERE!!!
