I do not believe so. The TV would need an operating system that can acknowledge the WiFi adapter. A non-smart TV would not have the need to. If you are trying to stream movies and tv shows your better bet would be a streaming device like roku or apple tv. Those devices have all the needed elements to stream wirelessly.
