I think I will work. I use it in a basement and the Verizon router is on the first floor.

From there it should be in sight of modem. I had trouble even getting to my back patio (150ft from modem) before i installed this. Now i am at about 400-500 ft before i lose bars
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It would work if was line of sight to your main router. I don't believe you will get good connectivity from attic. It has a good range for me. 2.4Ghz gives farther distance than 5ghz. Again I have line of sight to main router from extender.
