No...and yes. During initial setup you need to be in range of the router to connect to it. Once its set up there is the ability to do certain things remotely. I can't say what all can be done remotely via the app, but I know it can run a speed test and be rebooted via the app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am pretty sure you need to be there to connect to set it up then after it is set up you can control away from home. When setting up it gives you a temporary sign in on the set up wifi.
