If you buy a new router, the connection speeds will be better via wifi. But you are limited to the speed of the Internet provider connection. I hope this helps.
A:AnswerNot to the best of my knowledge. This isn’t a Wi-Fi extender. It won’t increase your signal from the main router. I use mine in place of the Wi-Fi from my spectrum gateway and my signal reaches the entire house including the basement, front and most of the backyard, with no real loss in speeds. Hope this helps.
