The Orbi router system is compatible with virtually any modem via direct Ethernet connection regardless of which ISP you utilize. The RBK50 system was designed to cover up to approximately 2,500 sq. ft. per device (coverage area in all directions) and are rated for Indoor use only. For Outdoor areas, we recommend our Orbi Outdoor Satellite: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-orbi-outdoor-ac3000-tri-band-wi-fi-range-extender/6190765.p?skuId=6190765
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will. However, you should google Orbi and CenturyLink because there are various topics that should be understood. I have the satellite about 30’ away from the router (RBR50) and have not experienced any connection issues. However, it does depend on your home’s structure. While 30’ is not a problem for me, it could be for someone else, requiring the satellite to be placed at only 25’, for instance, from the router. Netgear says this system is for indoor use. Period. If you have a covered patio, protecting the satellite from getting wet, you probably could place it outside. However, with the RBK50’s coverage up to 5000 sq ft, there probably isn’t a need to place the satellite outside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had no problem with CenturyLink, but they have several routers that don't like being paired with anything. No idea of single item range. I wouldn't put outside--my router is my lifeline so why mess with it. I have one on a window sill and it covers the entire pool and large deck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have it paired with CenturyLink no problem. 3200 sq ft home
