We would need to know more about your current setup to fully answer this, but you can connect up to 50 devices using high bandwidth such as HD streaming/gaming without much of an impact on overall performance of all devices, so you may be able to keep your Lorex camera connected and still be able to use your other devices. We can be reached at [email protected] if you have any further questions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Based on my Orbi performance, it probably will do better with it than anything else. I have to say I am impressed and have a lot of items "ever-on" the system what with Sonos speakers, echo's, the normal phone, i-pads, and other wi-fi enable devices (Ring doorbell, etc.). and performance is great, FINALLY no house slooooow or deadspots (I have a tri-level home with a bonus room off-set, above the garage and surrounded by walls and stairwell). It may in part be a function of the internet you have coming in, but my Orbi has improved performance tremendously over my top of the line Nighthawk. I use the Arlo system, not the Lorex you use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Orbi is designed for smart home in mind, most camera systems work ideally with routers that have 5Ghz due to latency. This maybe why your camera takes up most of the bandwidth. Since the Orbi has two radios 2.4 and 5Ghz this should resolve your issue, than again other factors may be involved. Starting with ISP, Cable/Satellite/DSL? Equipment are you using a modem with a built in WiFi Router and are the settings ideal for your setup? I find that cable modems or satellite setups with built in WiFi tend to be overworked since they have multiple jobs to process.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, I have an outdoor security camera with audio (Sharx brand from Amazon), and two Trendnet interior units with two way audio, running all of the time. My son plays online gaming and we stream netflix and do usual web browsing. No slow down in speed. We have FIOS with 80Mbps up and down, so maybe you don't have enough bandwidth? You might want to check your speed via www.speedtest.net. If you have less than 10-15 Mbps download/upload, a camera being on could cause issues. You might also consider tamping down the camera quality for streaming - and make sure you have changed your camera password so others aren't watching it using up your bandwidth. Just some suggestions/thoughts....good luck....this is a great router allowing full speed!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Without knowing more about your setup, there's no way to know for sure. That said, you might consider calling Lorex to see if that camera is misbehaving.
