It depends. Netgear will say it won't go that far. But I have my main router (RBK50) and then the satellite that came with it. That one is installed in my attached garage. I have a metal roof on my house, so thing have to stay below that to get out. Then I put an outdoor satellite in my barn (RBS50Y), and that is about 600 feet away. It is able to get it's signal from the one in my attached garage and it has been reliable and fast. So, it has worked for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I suggest you look at ORBI manuals or go online to Netgear to see whether you can connect a satellite unit as far as 500 feet away. Seems like a bit of a stretch. Might be able to run an Ethernet cable out there from your base if too far to connect wirelessly. You may end up having to set up a separate base unit out there connected to however you get your internet now.
