“I currently have a gigabit switch set up on my entertainment center that has an xbox, playstation, and smart tv. Will this work with a switch? Or is it only one device per power connection?”

Yes, it is OK to extend your network by using this device for the connection, then plugging the included network cable into a switch.

It does work with an Ethernet switch. Thats how I set mine up.
