“I want to switch over to a wired network. Can this be accomplished by just plugging these into the wall outlets? I use Kodi for viewing movies and tv shows, will I need to connect my tv to adapters? Will i need to rename my network, if possible?”

These function as if you plugged an Ethernet cable directly into your router. You will not need to rename or make any changes to your current network.
