99% of residential construction has "single phase" power coming to the house. this "single phase" is actually 2 phases as described in the manual. So for the lay person, what they mean is the circuits should both be on the same bus in your electrical panel, so if your bedroom is on a breaker on the left half of the panel, then your best connection result would be another room with a breaker on the left side of the panel. consider each panel half (left and right) as a 'phase' per the manual.
