Yes. Is how I use it. Bought 1 from Amazon and this one. This one was better and got 2nd set for full area under body and use other brand one for under equipment instead.

It is soft, but the pieces separate easily. I would not suggest that you use them as a yoga mat, unless you do not mind having to put the pieces back together once in awhile. My exercise bike sits flat on top of each piece, so I did not bother returning them. Also, the corners only face one direction. So, if you want to have a "perfect square", I suggest you get a different brand.
