“Past experience with DashCams that are hardwired still drain the battery over time. Is there a easy way via app just to shut it off or could you add a feature were it detects a geographic location (such as my garage for example) and totally shut off?”

The nextbase hard wire kit has an in-built protection feature for this exact reason, I had the same question myself and found the answer in the accessories manual.

Please try again later.Hello, Unfortunatly, there is no option to turn the dashcam off via the app. If the dashcam is being permanently powered in the vehicle, the parking mode feature should be enabled to allow the camera to shut down. The camera will shut down once it has remained stationary for around 5 minutes. If there is anything else we can assist with, please contact us via e-mail. Our e-mail address is [email protected].
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just manually turn off the camera using the button on the upper left (when viewed from the back of the camera). The camera turns off automatically after about 3 minutes IF the power from the vehicle turns off when the vehicle is turned off. My Ford products turn the accessory power off when the vehicle is turned off.
