“Why does it say the unit has 12 channels,but has only 8 output on the back of DVR”

Thank you for the question and happy to help. This system has 8 wired BNC connections with expansion room for up to 4 compatible Wi-Fi cameras for additional coverage. This could include doorbell, floodlight, battery powered or pan/tilt indoor cameras to suit your needs. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
