You can use the system without internet but it is needed for initial setup to ensure most up-to-date firmware and account registration for warranty. Internet is not needed for localize recording, or reviewing via the recorder with monitor/tv hooked up. For the app to work remotely on your phone/tablet you do need internet connection though.

A:AnswerThank you for the question. While BNC cables are meant to be used by any system, some companies try and save money by using cheaper quality cabling. In theory the existing cables should work, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that a BNC cable will work with our systems.

A:AnswerPlease check for compatability on the Night Owl Support Site. Internet is not required if you want to view the cameras locally on a TV or Monitor. If you want to use the remote viewing app, the recorder must be connected to the Internet.

How long it takes the hard drive to become full depends on: 1) the size of the hard drive, 2) how many cameras are connected, 3) the recording resolution the cameras are set to, 4) the environment where the cameras are installed (how much traffic they detect) and 5) the recording setting for each camera ( motion, continuous, time schedule, etc...).
