Upon learning about the "crop factor" for DX cameras I also purchased a 35mm to be equivalent to the 50mm.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The 35 is good on crop sensors for landscape but not good for portraits except indoors.. the 50mm is perfect for portraits on the crop sensor body !! But you would need a 24mm to get 36mm on a crop sensor !!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on what you want to shoot. If you are shooting nice portraits with good bokeh, i would recommend 50mm f1.8. It gives you ~85mm 35mm will get you a wider shot, but from what i read bokeh is not great compared to 50mm.
