The app that must be used with the Nikon is called SnapBridge and it is HORRIBLE. I was able to connect my iPhone the first time but now cannot get it to connect. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone and still not working. Now I have to go into Geek Squad to try to get this issue resolved. Keep in mind, I'm tech savvy and previously had a Sony Cybershot which uses the PlayMemories App for transferring photos wirelessly - that app is effortless, so easy to setup and use. SnapBridge is NOT easy to use (as other reviewers have stated). I switched brands this time because of the many moveable angles of the LCD screen on the Nikon, but that feature may not be enough to make the switch worth it. If Geek Squad can't fix the issue with SnapBridge this camera will be returned and replaced with the Sony DSC-HX400 instead.

There is also an option to remotely control the camera via Wi-Fi when a smart device is using the SnapBridge app. Compatible versions for Apple iOS systems are iOS 8 version 8.4 and later along with iOS 9 version 9.1 and later.
