“Why is there no separate battery charger? Nikon advises only to charge from wall socket & not USB ports on computers or in cars etc. How do other people recharge batteries when camera being consistently used?”

I often charge direct form computer with no problems at all

Please try again later.The COOLPIX W300 comes with the Nikon EH-73P/ EH-73PCH Charging AC adapter that is used to charge the supplied EN-EL12 Lithium-ion battery while it’s in the camera. The W300 also has a Charge by Computer setting which will charge the battery in-camera while the camera is connected to a computer via USB. Charge by Computer is enabled by default but can be disabled through the Setup Menu. Nikon’s MH-65 Battery Charger is available as a separate accessory for those who wish to charge the battery outside of the camera.
